Open to the public in October 2011, the Permanent Exhibition Hall of Liudui Park describe the history of Liudui settlement in the past 300 years, including how the foundation was laid, how ethnic and cultural characteristics were formed, how our ancestors protected themselves by setting up thorny bamboo walls along the border, how our ancestors reclaimed the land, blazed the paths, and formed the settlement, how our ancestors led a simple life of “plowing in sunny days and reading in rainy days,” and how multi-faith culture, exemplified by the Bagong shrines and ancestral halls and kitchens, has come into being. This exhibition which showcases the formation and heritage of Liudui settlement from the past to the modern time shall serve as a window for our visitors to gain a comprehensive understanding of Liudui Hakka village.
